Saint Matthew's Sunday School
"Let the little children come to me..."

One of the most important things we do at Saint Matthew's is support our children in their spiritual growth and development. Our devoted Sunday School teachers provide a safe and fun environment in which our children (K-6th grade) can learn about and explore the Christian faith. All are welcomed with open arms!
With the generous support of our parish community, we recently embarked on a three-year capital campaign that has allowed us to fully renovate our Sunday School rooms.
The Sunday School year begins in mid-September and continues through mid-June. All ages gather each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. in our Memorial Chapel for 15-20 minutes of worship, singing, and prayer. They then head downstairs for a lesson, crafts, and games, sometimes splitting into appropriate age groups. The children join the adults in church at The Peace.
Over the course of the year, our Sunday School children engage in out-reach projects, which has included an annual food drive for local food pantries and support of organizations like Heifer International. They also do in-reach, adopting members who are home-bound or in nursing homes, sending them cards, baked goods, and doing other things to let them know they are cared for and not forgotten.
