Maundy Thursday, March 29th Saint Matthew's at 7pm
Perhaps the most moving and profound service of Holy Week, our Maundy Thursday worship helps us to remember Jesus' command to love as he loves. We will have the Washing of Feet, share Holy Communion, and the service will conclude with the stripping of the altar in darkness.
Good Friday, March 30th Ecumenical Service at Saint Mark Catholic Church at 12pm Episcopal Good Friday Liturgy at Saint Matthew's at 7pm
On Good Friday we commemorate Jesus' death on the cross. At 12pm we will gather with our fellow Christians in Jamestown for an ecumenical Good Friday service at Saint Mark Catholic Church.
The traditional Episcopal Good Friday liturgy will be held at 7pm at Saint Matthew's.
The Great Vigil of Easter, March 31st Saint Matthew's at 7pm
The Easter Vigil is the climax of the Christian Year, and it is the most ancient service in the Church. This beautiful liturgy begins with the lighting of the "New Fire" of Easter in a darkened church. The church gradually moves from darkness to light over the course of the first part of the service. This service also includes the chanting of the Exsultet, a majestic song of praise intoned by a single voice.
Easter Day, April 1st Saint Matthew's at 8am and 10 am
The high point of the Church Year, on Easter we celebrate Christ's glorious resurrection with glorious music, "alleluias", beautiful flowers, and a festival Eucharist.
